Warm Thoughts

You hate me with vengeance.

Is your world really that cold?

You’d spit in my face,

But can’t let me go.

Anger needs a seed,

And soil wherefore to grow.

Our love had a cancer,

That filled us with woe.

I’m like sand in your eye.

You have an abscess in your soul.

Your love for me festers

And is eating you whole.

Just cut me loose–

Learn not to care.

Your guilt causes the cancer

That causes your despair.

Just take a deep breath,

And let your bosom swell,

Then blow out my candle,

And condemn me to hell.

When it is done,

Your temper–mild.

Will you now forget

The father of your child?

No longer will you have

To justify your deceit–

And forget I was the faithful

And that you were the cheat.

Breathe in slowly.

That’s freedom you taste.

Proceed from here slowly

And demonstrate no more haste.

Ironically, you were the one

Who insist that there’s a god.

So the Devil must be waiting.

Isn’t that odd?

But, I wish you no ill

For all the pain that you’ve brought.

So, when you’re burning Hell,

Know that I’m having warm thoughts.
